Mål: Rense flodvand i Bangladesh, Dhaka
PS.

Denmark to give €75m for water treatment
Diplomatic Correspondent
Denmark will provide an interest free loan of 75 million Euro for constructing a large new water treatment plant at Sayedabad in the capital with a production capacity of 2,25,000 cubic metres (cumec) per day.
An agreement was signed in Dhaka yesterday by Bijon Kumar Baishya, joint secretary of Economic Relations Division (ERD) and Henrik Brink, vice-president of Nordea Bank.
The three-year project will be implemented by Dhaka Water and Sewerage Authority (Wasa) on the outskirts of Dhaka.
Danish Grants will assist the monitoring and additional supervision process during implementation of the project, according to a statement of Danish embassy in Dhaka.
It was also expected that the project will improve the public health and create better conditions for economic growth in Dhaka.
Speaking at the ceremony, Bijon Kumar Baishya said the project is expected to increase the supply of drinking water to large parts of the capital.
"The Danish assistance will contribute significantly to the necessary improvements of the critical water supply situation in Dhaka," said Jan Moller Hansen, Charge d'Affaires of Embassy of Denmark.
"We also encourage the national environment authorities to ensure effective monitoring and control of wastewater discharge from industries and domestic households to the rivers in and around Dhaka, which is necessary for ensuring quality raw water," he added.
